This Privacy Policy describes how MPMBM ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our accounting services and the internal tools we operate at mpmdashboard.com and mpmbm.com.
1. Scope
This policy applies to:
- Visitors to mpmdashboard.com and mpmbm.com.
- Clients of MPMBM whose financial data we access in the course of providing services.
- Third parties whose information appears in client records we process.
2. Information We Collect
From website visitors: mpmdashboard.com is a static informational site. We do not run advertising trackers or collect personal information from casual visitors. Standard web server logs may record IP addresses and request metadata for security and operational purposes; these logs are retained for no more than 90 days.
From clients: In the course of providing accounting, bookkeeping, and advisory services, we collect and process financial and business information about our clients. This may include accounting records, bank and credit card transaction data, payroll records, tax information, vendor and customer lists, and related business documents.
From third-party systems: With explicit client authorization, we retrieve data from third-party platforms such as QuickBooks Online, banking aggregators, and document storage services on behalf of our clients. Access is granted through standard authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth) and may be revoked by the client at any time through the relevant platform's connected-apps settings.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide accounting, bookkeeping, tax, and advisory services to our clients.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses requested by clients.
- Communicate with clients about engagements, services, and findings.
- Comply with applicable professional standards and legal obligations.
- Maintain the security and integrity of our systems and data.
We do not use client data for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any purpose unrelated to providing the services for which the data was collected.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal or financial information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With the client to whom the information relates.
- With service providers and subprocessors that act solely on our instruction (for example, cloud storage and software providers used to deliver our services), under appropriate confidentiality and security commitments.
- When required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legally binding process.
- When necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, security incidents, or violations of our agreements.
- With a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of our practice, subject to continued application of this policy.
5. Data Storage and Security
Information we collect is stored on systems controlled by MPMBM or by vetted service providers operating under our instruction. We use technical and administrative safeguards designed to protect data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, including access controls, encryption in transit and at rest where reasonably available, and regular review of our security practices.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure. We make no warranty that our security measures will prevent every possible incident, but we work in good faith to maintain practices appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle.
6. Data Retention
We retain client data for the duration of the engagement plus the period required by applicable professional standards, tax authority rules, and other legal obligations. After the retention period expires, data is deleted or anonymized.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Clients may, at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about them or their business.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of information we are not required to retain.
- Revoke our authorization to access third-party systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online) through that system's connected-apps controls.
- Terminate their engagement with us, subject to applicable engagement-letter terms.
Residents of jurisdictions with applicable privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU General Data Protection Regulation) may have additional rights. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be communicated to active clients through the contact methods on file.
